Mission: The MERI Center for Marine Studies was established in summer 2000 in the coastal village of Blue Hill on the mid-Maine coast. Overlooking Blue Hill harbor and the bay, the center serves as headquarters for MERI’s research and education operations in the Gulf of Maine and along the mid-Atlantic coast. Housing state-of-the-art marine research laboratories, public lecture and conference spaces, a sea lending library and an ocean aquarium that replicates the Gulf of Maine ecosystem, the MERI Center is an important resource for the community and the region.
