NEOSEC Program Open House for Teens

Re-live Summer Camp

NEOSEC’s Summer Science in New England program is holding an Open House for teens and their families to find out what’s happening at New England summer camps with funding from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).  Teen campers in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut inventoried intertidal biodiversity as part of an international effort to census life in the world’s ocean.  Representatives from each camp will share their findings and experiences at the New England Aquarium’s Ocean Center (under the Harborside Garage on Central Wharf in Boston) on Saturday October 23 from 10:30am to 12pm.  This unique and exciting opportunity has connected teens ages 14 & up to scientists whose work is focused on the study of near shore areas, and will expand to additional camps in Summer 2011.
