The Summit events will be hosted in the city of Boston, Massachusetts. Thursday morning activities will be at Northeastern University. Field trips will be in Boston, Charlestown, and Nahant. The Thursday evening reception will be at the Boston Winery in the Boston neighborhood of Dorchester. All Friday events are at University of Massachusetts Boston.
Our Summit hotel is the DoubleTree by Hilton Boston Bayside. The hotel has easy highway access. It is just steps to the MBTA JFK station and a short shuttle ride to UMass Boston.

Garage parking is available in the Renaissance and Gainsborough garages. Parking passes will be available for purchase at the registration desk and provide a discount rate of $20 per day. You will present this pass as you exit the garage along with the ticket given when you parked. There is limited metered parking in the area. To help us plan, please email email@example.com if you anticipate needing a parking pass.
NU is accessible via the MBTA. Take the Green Line E branch to the Northeastern stop or the Orange Line to the Ruggles stop.
NU is accessible via the Commuter Rail. Some commuter rail lines stop at Ruggles. If you take the Commuter Rail to South Station, take the Red Line to Park Street to transfer to the Green Line E branch. If you take the Commuter Rail to North Station, take the Green Line E branch or the Orange Line.
University of Massachusetts Boston
Events are located at Campus Center. Morning events are in the Ballroom on the third floor. Afternoon events are in the Ballroom as well as breakout rooms on the second and third floors.
UMass Boston prohibits drop offs at the front of Campus Center. UMass Boston also prohibits parking anywhere but authorized garages.
There are shuttles to UMass from the JFK MBTA station and the Bayside parking lot. The Bayside parking lot and shuttle are next door to the DoubleTree by Hilton Bayside Hotel.
UMass has several parking lots. Refer to the links for more information. Please note that prices for the lots may change by the date of the conference. The lots closest to campus fill early.
The JFK MBTA station is on the Red Line. From the T station, take the Number 8 or Number 16 bus directly to Campus Center.
UMass is accessible via the Commuter Rail. Some commuter rail lines stop at the JFK station. If you take the Commuter Rail to South Station, take the Red Line to JFK. If you take the Commuter Rail to North Station, take the Green Line or Orange Line to the Red Line and then the Red Line to JFK.
If you are an exhibitor and need to drop off materials, please reference the Exhibitors page. UMass Boston prohibits drop offs at the Campus Center main entrance. UMass Boston also prohibits parking anywhere but authorized garages.
There is ample parking at Boston Winery. DoubleTree Bayside Hotel offers local transportation for its guests. The Boston Winery is 3.2 miles from the hotel.
Field Trip Transportation Information
Most field trips are accessible by mass transit.
New England Aquarium, Boston
From Northeastern University, take the Green Line “E” train inbound. Exit at Government Center station. Transfer to the Blue Line towards Wonderland. Exit two stops later at the Aquarium station.
Alternatively, take the Green Line to Haymarket station. It is a half mile walk primarily along a greenway to the Aquarium at 1 Central Wharf. From Haymarket station, turn right at John F. Fitzgerald Surface Rd. Turn left at S. Market St. Turn right on Atlantic Ave. Turn left to Central Wharf.
Courageous Sailing, Charlestown
Courageous Sailing is located on Pier 4 in Charlestown. To take the MBTA and ferry, follow the instructions for the New England Aquarium. The ramp to the Charlestown Ferry is to the left of the New England Aquarium next to the BHC kiosk. (See picture below.) Take the Charlestown Ferry Outbound towards Charlestown Navy Yard.
If you choose to drive, there is free 2-hour parking along 8th Street and metered parking on First Avenue. There is also $12 parking at the Flagship Wharf Garage at the base of Pier 4.
The group will meet on the left side of the little white boathouse on the pier.
Waterworks Museum, Brookline
The museum is located at 2450 Beacon Street, Boston. Please note that parking is limited. There are only 20 spaces allocated for exclusive use by the Museum. If you drive, please park in spaces labeled “Museum Visitor.” There is a Map It link on the website https://waterworksmuseum.org/visit/#directions
From Northeastern University, take the Green Line “E” train inbound. Exit at the Copley station. Change to the Outbound platform. Take the Green Line “C” train to Cleveland Circle station. Walk 7-10 minutes west on Beacon Street, with the reservoir on your right. The Waterworks Museum will be on your left.
NU Marine Science Center, Nahant
A van will be provided for the Northeastern University Marine Science Center drive to Nahant.
