  1. The Ocean Literacy Summit in November looks very interesting. I am a marine ecologist and award winning environmental educator who has turned to writing environmental mysteries as a novel way to reach people about climate change. COLD BLOOD, HOT SEA will be released by Torrey House Press (motto is “conservation through literature”) June 7th. The book is getting very good reviews (Bill McKibben’s blurb is on the cover). You may read more about me and the book at charlenedavanzo.com.

The Chronicle of Higher Education calls cli-fi the “subfield that is changing the landscape of literary studies”. I am writing to ask if organizers of the summit might be interested in including cli-fi as a education approach.

    Thank you, Charlene D’Avanzo (Yarmouth)
