Three camps join NEOSEC’s Summer Science in New England program

This summer, teens in twelve camps around New England will conduct citizen science along the rocky shore, contributing their findings to an international ocean research database. Through the program, marine scientists partner with camp staff to train campers in the Census of Marine Life’s NaGISA protocol, a means for estimating intertidal biodiversity. New to the project this year are summer programs at The Ocean Explorium at New Bedford (MA) Seaport, UMaine Machias’ Downeast Institute, and Girls Inc. of Lynn (MA).
